About Us

Funding

Free at Last safeguards its integrity and sustainability by the following means:

  • The Board has set strict guidelines to ensure both program compliance and accountability.
  • To build stable and sustainable programs, the Board also requires that no more than 50% of a program’s funding can come from government sources. Consequently, our budget is raised from diverse sources: 47% is from governmental contracts, 36% from foundations and corporations, 12% from fees and rents, 5% from individual donations.
  • 89% of funding is used for direct services.
  • To guarantee a high level of fiscal accountability, Free at Last has completed an independent audit every year since inception.
  • Each year our direct service program audits have been completed without citations.
  • To date we have successfully sustained funding for every program initiated.
