PREVENTION & INTERVENTION PROGRAMS
NEIGHBORHOOD RECOVERY CENTER:
A drop-in and resource/referral center, open 7 days a week, visited by approximately 100 people a day that is a point of entry to recovery, a meeting place for clean and sober activities. Our Community Program Specialist provides emergency assessment and referrals for individuals and families who need help.
STREET OUTREACH:
Bilingual teams provide HIV/AIDS and STD prevention information to over 50 people each day, targeting IV drug users, youth, immigrants, and medically uninsured, in collaboration with County Health Services health screening program and the AIDS Program’s HIV testing outreach.
FIRST OFFENDER PROGRAM:
Provides court ordered early intervention and education for individuals with a first time DUI offense.
COMMUNITY JUSTICE INITIATIVE:
Free At Last offers pre-release groups in prison, provides transitional support services, and link parolees to treatment programs. The Court & Custody Advocate also arranges for treatment as an alternative to incarceration for drug-related offenders.
